Floor plan

Persona is a versatile venue, perfect for an intimate date, a mid-sized birthday celebration, or a large corporate event with 300+ guests. The space can be divided into four distinct areas: the Nob Hill Grotto, which features a private sliding partition; the Sutter Cinema, enclosed by luxurious red velvet curtains; and The Starlet’s Way and Blade Runner Booth, both ideal for smaller gatherings. You can book the entire venue or choose a specific section that suits your needs. If you’re planning entertainment, we can host bands or DJs in multiple areas, and if you want a dance floor, we’ll happily clear the space. Persona’s flexible floor plan provides endless possibilities for your next event.

FAQ's

  • Is Persona 21+ only?
    Absolutely. Persona is 21+ at ALL times, including private events. IDs are checked at the door by security or bar staff—no exceptions. Bring your ID, not your excuses.
  • Do you need reservations?
    Not required, but highly recommended for large groups or if you want a reserved space for your crew. Walk-ins are always welcome, but if you want to secure a hangout spot, click here to make a reservation. Planning a big bash or private event? Fill out our Event Inquiry Form, and our Events Manager will be in touch to make it happen.
  • Is there a reservation fee?
    Yes, but don't worry—it's credited back to your tab on the day of your event. It's our way of holding your spot and making sure everyone has a good time.
  • Are reservation fees refundable if I cancel my event?
    Sorry, no refunds. If something unexpected comes up, we can transfer your reservation fee to a future date.
  • Can I get my reservation fee refunded instead of a credit?
    Nope. The fee is credited to your tab on the day of your event and must be used that day.
  • Is there parking?
    Metered street parking is free after 6 PM. There are also several nearby parking garages, so you won’t have to drive in circles all night.
  • Can we control the music?
    Only if you’re doing a full buyout. Otherwise, leave the playlist to our pros.
  • Do you have food?
    We serve popcorn, and that’s it! For events, we work with a preferred caterer who handles all the delicious details.
  • Can I bring an outside caterer?
    We prefer to stick with our caterer, but if you must bring your own, there’s a fee. Light snacks and desserts? Go for it. Full catering? Let’s chat.
  • Can I bring in a cake? Are candles okay?
    Cakes are messy, and knives are a no-go (too much liability with cocktails involved). Cupcakes are perfect! Candles are fine, but we don’t provide plates or utensils.
  • Can I bring in outside vendors?
    Sure, but please check with us first for approval.
  • Can we decorate?
    Yes, feel free to bring the party vibes! Balloons are totally fine, but please, no tape on the walls, and absolutely NO glitter or confetti—including in or on balloons. We’re not responsible for any lost or damaged decor, so plan accordingly.
  • Does happy hour apply to private events?
    Nope, happy hour pricing doesn’t extend to private events.
  • Can my guests pay for their own drinks?
    Yes! If there’s a beverage minimum, their individual tabs will count toward it.
  • Can I create a special menu for my private event?
    Absolutely! Let us know what you’d like to feature, and provide the menu at least two weeks before your event. If you'd like us to handle the graphics and printing, there’s an additional charge. Prefer to DIY? You’re welcome to design and print your own at no cost.
  • Is security included?
    Security is available upon request for an additional fee.
  • Do you do coat check?
    We can offer coat check upon request, but there’s an additional charge.
  • Can you check my guests in?
    Yes, but this service comes with an extra fee.
  • Is there happy hour?
    Yes! Monday through Friday, 5–7 PM, with $3 off specialty cocktails, beer, and wine. (Not applicable for private events.)
  • What type of music do you play?
    Fridays & Saturdays (9 PM-late): Rotating DJs spin Funk, Trip-Hop, Indie Rock, House, Throwbacks, and Future Sounds. Sundays (8 PM–late): The Magic School Busk Latin Collective keeps it hot with Cumbia, Salsa, Son, Mambo & more. Wednesdays (8 PM–late): The Magic School Busk grooves with Funk, Soul, Latin, and Afro vibes. Thursdays (8 PM–late): Dirty Works Jazz jams with some smooth jazz sounds.
  • Is there dancing?
    We’re more of a “move your shoulders, nod your head” kind of place than a nightclub. That said, we love a good private event where the dance floor comes alive. Let us know if you want to party harder.
  • Is there a cover?
    Generally, no. Occasionally, third-party events may charge a cover, but we’ll let you know ahead of time.
  • What are your hours?
    We’re open daily from 5 PM to 2 AM—no early closures here! We stick to our hours because we know you’re thirsty. Holiday hours might vary, but rest assured, we’ll still be open to keep the good times rolling.
